Indonesia’s PDP Law: What Fintech Companies Need to Know
With the Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law) set to come into full effect in October 2024, fintech companies must make sure they comply with its stricter data governance requirements. From obtaining data owners’ (“subjects’”) explicit consent to appointing a Data Protection Officer (DPO), the law imposes significant new obligations that may affect fintech companies’ current operational and cybersecurity strategies.
Understanding these regulatory shifts is key to maintaining compliance and mitigating legal risks.
