Makarim & Taira S. Marks World Down Syndrome Day with Inclusive Bazaar
We had the privilege of celebrating World Down Syndrome Day with a special bazaar in our office on the16th floor of the Summitmas I Building. Together with ISDI and Yayasan POTADS, we welcomed talented young individuals with Down Syndrome, who showcased and sold a variety of products—from food and beverages to souvenirs and handcrafted artworks.
This event was more than just a marketplace; it was a celebration of inclusivity and creativity. Attendees, including Makarim & Taira S. family and other Summitmas tenants, had the chance to witness, support and appreciate the hardwork of these incredible individuals. The day was made even more special by performances by ISDI and POTADS participants, featuring music, dance and poetry readings.
For Makarim & Taira S., inclusion is more than just a one-day celebration. Since 2018, we have been implementing an internship program for individuals with Down Syndrome, providing them with opportunities to gain valuable work experience and be part of a professional environment. This initiative remains an ongoing commitment, reflecting our dedication to fostering a more inclusive workplace.
We are grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event meaningful. Let’s continue to support and empower individuals with Down Syndrome — inclusion makes us all stronger.

Today, celebrating the 2022 World Down’s Syndrome Day, we are proud to share a video of 32 talented young people with Down’s Syndrome from the ISDI dancing to a song by Meghan Trainor, “Better when I’m Dancing.” With this video, we hope to let the world know just how amazing they are and to continue to advocate for the rights of people with Down’s Syndrome.

Together We Share: A Visit to Panti Asuhan Abigail
